MPTE: More than 92 thousand low-income young people received labor training

More than 92 thousand young people of the country, specially, those with low- income and disabled, received free training for a labor insertion and the development of own business in the past five years through “Jóvenes Productivos” national program of the ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion. 

According to sector figures, 60% of beneficiaries were women, meanwhile the largest amount of trained was registered in Lima – Callao (21,470 young people).

The MTPE invested more than S/. 178 million to train young people in highly demanded technical occupations by the labor market and technical assistant for the creation of business plans for self-employment.

As part of the five year anniversary of “Jóvenes Productivos” program, the viceminister of Employment Promotion and Labor Training, Jaime Luis Obreros, gave certificates to 75 young people of vulnerable areas of Lima- Callao that finished their labor training in cashier and customer service courses and machine operator in textile clothing.

The trainings are developed in agreement with important institutions of higher education such as the National University of San Marcos, National Engineering University, Callao University, Federico Villarreal University, SENATI and José Pardo Institute. 

“Jóvenes Productivos” is a program of the ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion that provides the access of young people to formal labor market, through labor training, technical assistance for the entrepreneurship and labor intermediation. Also, the program develops capacities for the business generation in urban and rural areas.
