Arequipa, May 7th, 2016.- The minister of Labor and Employment Promotion, Daniel Maurate Romero, expressed  Peru´s commitment  to improve  human capital for strengthening the growth of the countries, during the opening of Plenary Session of APEC Human Resources Development Working Group, in Arequipa.

“We want to build a system of labor competences more suited to the times and give labor training services to the companies” said.

He said that there are common problems for APEC member economies such as the shortage of technical and professional talent in the labor market and the difficulty to recruit staff.

“To overcome the difficulties, it is necessary to impulse the adjustment between the offer and demand of skills in young people, with the objective to create quality jobs that our economies require”, said.

The minister Maurate Romero highlighted that Peru has boosted as national priority in APEC 2016 the development of human capital, and he highlighted that the initiative has been welcomed by this working group.

He added that the sector works to improve the employability through trainings for labor insertion and the entrepreneurship developed by Jovenes Productivos and Impulsa Peru programs.

“We also strengthen labor training career through our web platforms Service of Vocational Orientation and Occupational Information (Sovio) and Ponte Carrera” expressed.
