(Lima, June 9th, 2016).- During the XV Ministerial Meeting of the Pacific Alliance developed from 7th to 8th June in Mexico City, was approved the Technical Labor Group, to promote employment public policies and strengthen cooperation and good practices in labor terms of member states of this trading bloc, minister Maurate announced.
“Through this work group will be complemented actions to improve the labor public policies under international standards”, minister Maurate said.
The Technical Labour Group will develope, issues as youth employment, elimination of child labor, labor migration and social security, added.
For the period 2016 – 2017, there will be an advance: a diagnostic about the labor movility of each member of PA, taking into account actual situation of labor migration and information about public policies, regulatory frameworks, strategies and projects about this subject.
This study will be in charge of International Organisation for Migration (IOM) with International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Iberian American Social Security Organisation (IASS).
Also, there will be conducted a study about the scheme of regional cooperation of the Employment Public Services (EPS), that will be permit identify items that are required to elaborate a cooperation scheme in the EPS, respect to service provision of transnational placement and support to the countries labor migration of PA with American Development Bank (IDB) support.
The Technical Labour Group help to young people workers and populations in vulnerability, child labor erradication and attention and consultation to PA migrants, Maurate Romero, emphasized.
Finally, MTPE on behalf of the labor sector of PA, proposed to the Presidency Pro Tempore of Pacific Alliance the inclusion of this issue in the High Level Group.
