Minister Maurate calls on to strengthen the social dialogue to reduce social conflicts

CNTPE held the Second International Conference on Social Dialogue and Labor Agreement :: Published 25/07/2016

(Lima, July 23rd, 2016).- The minister of Labor and Employment Promotion, Daniel Maurate Romero, said that all in Peru have to continue working to strengthen a social dialogue culture and incorporate it on regional public agendas, considering various approaches in order to reduce social conflicts.

“The dialogue must be constructed on the basis of confidence that allows the debate and agreements in benefit of economic progress and social peace in our country”, Maurate said during the Second International Conference on Social Dialogue and Labor Agreement: “Towards building sustainable public policies”, organized by Nacional Council of Labor and Employment Promotion (CNTPE in Spanish).

Likewise, he highlighted that CNTPE has called on to join efforts between enterprise activity and workers; and others matters such as informality, occupational inadequacy, unemployment, among others.

Also, he said that the international conferences organized by CNTPE are academic spaces for reflection about Peruvian experiences and other countries that have achieved to change conflicts into democratic participation in the labor world.

 “It is important to create public policies for the human capital development, especially for vulnerable population. From MTPE, we have focused to develop employment services through the Employment Center”, Maurate said.

The Second International Conference on Social Dialogue and Labor Agreement: “Towards building sustainable public policies” took place from July 20th to 22nd and gathered together policy makers on labor, representatives of employers and workers, international organizations and civil society related to workplace, as well as specialists from Brazil, Mexico, Spain, Chile and Bolivia.

The themes were linked to public policies on the basis of dialogue, decent work and poverty reduction, building policies and social inequality, labor market and labor informality, and social security challenges in the context of public policy.
