The minister of Labor and Employment Promotion, Alfonso Grados Carraro highlighted the advantages of “Ponte en Carrera” web site to students of last years of High school of Santa Rosa School in Trujillo city.
“Ponte en Carrera” collects information for students and parents to compare university and technical careers with the labor demand pointed minister Grados Carraro, during his visit,.
He said that in Peru, six of each 10 young professionals are improperly occupied, in others words, they work in an occupation that isn’t accord to their educational level.
“We still promoting instruments as “Ponte en Carrera” web site, to help young people to elect, correctly, a profession, with information and statistic over educational offering and labor demand” said the minister.
According to “Ponte en Carrera” data, the university careers with greater revenue are Civil Engineering (S/. 4,109) and Geology (S/. 3, 908), while technical careers that offer a greater revenue to their graduates are Architecture and Urbanism technician (S/ 3,093) and Mining Engineering, Metallurgy and Petroleum (S/ 3,077).
Trained young people
At another time, minister Grados gave certificates to young people that finished, successfully, their training through “Jóvenes Productivos” Program in “Basic and transversal skills in the employment course” of production operator, auxiliary sales and welding assistant.
“Jóvenes Productivos” Program develops and strengthen the labor skills and entrepreneurship of young people in poverty situation, extreme poverty or vulnerable groups, to facilitate their access to formal labor market.
Business meeting
Minister Grados went to the Chamber of Commerce and Production of La Libertad to participate in a business meeting of social responsibility, organized by “Perú Responsible” Program to promote social dialogue between the government and the formal companies of this region.
In this regard, Grados Carraro explained the action lines that his managment will prioritizes: youth employment, inclusive labor for disabled people, eradication of child labor, gender equity and labor formalization, among others.
