APEC economies knew the fair that promotes labor formalization

Arequipa, May 7th, 2016.- The minister of Labor and Employment Promotion, Daniel Maurate Romero, showed to the representatives of the 21 members economies, the services that offer the fair “Fomalízate ahora” to promote the labor formalization between micro and small Peruvian business owners during the Second Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM2) of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit.  

The minister closed the fair at “Libertad de Expresión” Park, Yanahuara district; accompanied by the leader of the APEC Human Resources Development Working Group, Daria Rybakova.

The authorities went through the fair which had 40 stands of 24 institutions. The fair gave information about the formalization process and its benefits such as obtaining credit lines with low interest rates, to get best markets to place their products and more possibilities to export and sell to the State.

Maurate highlighted that “Formalízate Ahora” is a space where the entrepreneur finds, an agile and accessible way, the information and services linked to the formalization process (business, tributary, labor, sectorial and municipal) to develop and grow their businesses.

 “It is time to raise awareness to the population about the informality matter and its serious consequences for national development. This fair will help to meet the development of a minute and public deed, elect the type of the company, obtain the clave SOL, RUC and choose the most suitable tax regime, among others”, said.

He specified that between 2015 and 2016, “Formalízate Ahora” attended and oriented 19 thousand people of several regions of the country. Also, the formalization process began for 1, 300 businesses.

Eight fairs have been organizad in Lima (La Victoria and Villa El Salvador), La Libertad, Tacna, Piura, Junin, Cusco and Huanuco.

The SOM 2 is carried out in Arequipa City until May 15TH and it will include work meetings groups, committees and experts group, and senior officials, who are the economic representatives in public–private dialogues in the forum.

Among the main important working groups of the Forum agenda are the food security, fishery, free trade agreements, value chains of trade, human resources, and people with disabilities, among others.

The APEC Forum was established in November 1989, is a forum for 21 Pacific Rim member economies that promotes free trade throughout the Asia-Pacific region, also investments, facilitate business and promote economic cooperation to achieve prosperity in member economies: Australia; Brunei Darussalam; Canada; Chile; Republic of China; Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei; Indonesia; Japon; Malasia; Mexico; Nueva Zelanda; Papua Nueva Guinea; Peru; Philippines; Rusia; Singapur; Corea; Chinese Taipei; Tailandia; United States and Vietnam.
