(Lima, June 23rd, 2016).- With the objective of promoting development in employability, competitiveness and productivity in Peru; and in this way to shorten the gap between labor offer and demand, today the Labor Competences Committees of Construction and Sanitation sectors have been installed, minister Maurate reported.
“These committees are essential for giving strategic consultancy to the government and industries about the real needs of people formation and training, favoring human capital development”, said.
For the Committees effective development there will also be a direct involvement of the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation and the Ministry of Education, the ones that will take as theirs principal funtions: develop and propose technical tools related to standardization and labor competences development, according to its sector.
Minister Maurate pointed that this intervention of diverse government sectors is crucial because they know the necessities of the work forces and challenge to be competitive.
“One of the challenges is the establishment of strategies that allows the identifications of ‘interventions niches; besides the elaboration of occupational profiles that encourages the labor mobility and workers training”, specified.
The committees are spaces for consultation and dialogue that identify and prioritize the needs related to job skills and labor performance standards, for standardization process and training requirements and continuous training in enterprises of the sector.
During 2015 and in this year actions have been developed regarding the update of master builder, dump operations, and concrete pumps occupational profile, among others.
In this way the MTPE aims to sustain the employment growth and productivity improvement. It implies to improve the human capital, which requires a narrow connection between different stakeholders of the productive sector, the same that becomes in one of the axes of interest of job skills committees.
