Experts in labor competences improve their skills

The Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion and the ILO Office for Andean countries organize the international workshop: “Developing of skills profiles: bases for the strengthening of capacities for productive development in Peru” until tomorrow.

Methodologists and officials will recognize the capacities that an empiric person has for its development in the labor market that will contribute to a best productivity and labor conditions of economic sectors.

The assistants will develop cases about the wood furniture sector which has important steps in the strengthening of labour competences with the development of productive chain, starting point for the development and validation of the occupational profiles.

The development of profiles is important because it helps to identify training requirements for the companies and workers, giving the best employability indices by generating competitiveness.

Since 2010, the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion supports the evaluation process and labour competences certification to contrast the workers competences that have practical learnings with technical and quality criteria that the productive sector demands and they can improve their employability levels and productivity in the sectors where they participate.

Until March, the Ministry of Labour and Employment Promotion has approved 99 occupational skills linked to 295 workstations and 215 evaluation tools in the tourism, mining, construction, and manufacturing industry specially in wood furniture, among others. Nineteen certification centers have been authorized in seventeen country’s regions.
