Minimum Wage will be 850 soles, this represents an increment of 42% over February 2011
The Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion reported that the average monthly income improved 32.2%, it means an increment of S/. 313.
Lima, May 1st, 2016.- The ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion, Daniel Maurate Romero reminded that since today the Minimum Wage is S/. 850, this represents an increment of 42% over February 2011.
He clarified that the current Government has increased the Minimum Wage in two opportunities, encouraging to low-income workers.
“The achievements of the last five years are the result of effort of thousands of workers who want to improve their situation and their families, also the joint work of the State, through its public policies, and the society search equal opportunities with social inclusion“, highlighted.
The minister pointed that between 2011 and 2015, the amount of people with an appropriate work have increased in one million 700 thousand people, this represents an increment of 26,1%.
Also, the access to health insurance have increased in 11.9%, it implies an increment of 2 million 400 thousand of workers with more benefit. 900 thousand workers have been affiliated to the pension system.
816 thousand formal employments have been registered in this Government; there are more workers with benefits. On the other hand, the average monthly income improved 32.2% that means an increase of S/. 313.
Finally, the Minister of Labor and Employment Promotion added that the next government must continue promoting the Employment Center to national level, which has free services of labor training for young people and adults, labour exchange, training for people with disabilities, telecommute, among other mechanisms to help people.
