Ministro Maurate: “En el Perú existen casi 4 mil trabajadores formales provenientes de la Alianza del Pacífico”

MINISTER MAURATE: “IN PERU EXISTS ALMOST FOUR THOUSANDS FORMAL WORKERS FROM THE PACIFIC ALLIANCE”

The Minister of Labor and Employment Promotion, Daniel Maurate Romero reported that the number of formal workers from countries of the Pacific Alliance (Chile, Colombia and Mexico) increased from 2,428 in the 2011 to 3,937 in the 2015 being Colombia, the country with more workers in Peru (2,465).

In the event “Laboral Movility in the Pacific Alliance: the role of the productive and public sectors through the public employment services” in Bogota, Colombia, Maurate indicated that 4 of 10 formal workers of this group work in businesses of 100 or more employees.

He also highlighted the support that offers his sector to the migrants through the Migrant’s Orientation Service and the training for productive use of remittances.

 “This mechanism seeks to achieve an organized and regular migration that contributes to the insertion of returnees in the labor formal market and promote the self-employment, fostering the productive use of their savings and remittances sent by peruvian emigrants”, he underlined.

He precised that the Virtual System of the Andean Migrant Worker facilitates the automatic and secure emission of the Andean migrant worker`s certificate, to obtain his enabling immigration status.

The Peruvian Employment Center

The Minister of Labor and Employment Promotion highlighted achieved advances for The Peruvian Employment Center in the formal job generation and self-employment in favor of the most vulnerable population.  

He noted that between August and January 2011 were implemented 34 Employment Centers nationwide and achieved one hundred forty five thousands colocations in formal employments.

 “One of the more important experiences has been the ‘Employment Center’ that seeks to improve the laboral insertion and self-employment for low-income people, indicated.

The Minister Daniel Maurate participated in this event due to an invitation of the Pacific Alliance Business Council and the Inter American Development Bank invitation.
