Minister Maurate: “We seek that the corporate social responsibility contributes to the sustainable development of the country”

Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion encourages spaces for dialogue between State institutions and the private sector. :: Published 26/04/2016

Lima, April 26th, 2016.- The Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion through Responsible Peru Program organized the II National Forum about Corporate Social Responsibility from State, to strength its development in favor of Peru’s most vulnerable communities.

The minister Daniel Maurate Romero highlighted that is important to work a national agenda about public policies of corporate social responsibility to contribute to the sustainable and inclusive development of the country.

“To achieve this, it is necessary the dialogue with business representatives, public officials, opinion leaders, specialists, business associations, regional and local governments, among others.” pointed during the event opening.

He emphasized that the State is concerned to align the job of the private sector about corporate social responsibility with public policies, for developing social programs with country’s vision.

The forum developed issues such as the State role in the promotion of the social responsibility and its contribution with the sustainable development to 2030, the national interaction to promote the social responsibility and socially responsible management to generate employment, employability and entrepreneurship.

It is important to highlight that the corporate social responsibility should work together between the public and private sectors in order to solve the poverty, environmental damages, unemployed, corruption and human rights.

The Responsible Peru Program, created in 2011, has the aim to promote from the State, the corporate social responsibility culture, employability and the entrepreneurship to benefit vulnerable groups such as: households, handicapped persons, low-income people, among others.

Along its five years of creation have developed 52 public-private partnerships with enterprises and institutions; 40 projects about corporate social responsibility that generated employ, employability and self-employed, and more than 80 advocacy events through round tables and workshops to national level.
