Ministry of Labour and Employment Promotion invested more than 8 millions soles in labour training for young people from Arequipa

The Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion, through its program Jóvenes Productivos (Productives Young People) invested more than 8 millions soles since August 2011 to February 2016 in training courses about labor insertion and self-employment for young and vulnerable population of Arequipa, said the Minister Daniel Maurate Romero.

Maurate highlighted the investment in strengthening of capacities that the Jóvenes Productivos (Productives Young People) program has promoted. It also has allowed inserting to low-income young people from Arequipa to private companies in the Region.

The most demanded trades in Arequipa are operability of sewing machines, logistics and warehouse assistant, assistant in sales and marketing, kitchen operator, operator of industrial production, operator of foot war, among others.

The minister Maurate announced the available vacancies for courses such as sales assistant, operator of industrial production and operator of textile clothing to train to 140 low-income young people.

“One thousand five hundred young people from Arequipa are working thanks to these free benefits that we are giving with private companies. We follow all the process since the training until the worker insertion” said the Minister.

The Minister visited Arequipa City for closing the Employment Week where participated more than 30 companies from private sector that offer almost 900 vacancies of formal sectors for different sectors such as agro-industrial, banks, machinery operators, sales, retail, etc.

“The Employment Week is an itinerant space that seeks an interaction between the private sector and the society to facilitate the labor insertion in favor of low-income and vulnerable population”, remembered Maurate.

Finally, he mentioned that the participants to the Employment Week were benefited with services of job exchange and information about the Jóvenes Productivos (Productives Young People) and Impulsa Perú programs. Also, this event offered the single labor certification, required document to apply for a job in companies.
