MTPE gathered information in order to determine the causes why the metallic structure fell over Rímac river in Callao.

The ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion gathered information in order to determine the causes and responsibilities of the fall of a metallic structure into Rímac river,  that injured 10 workers.

MTPE, through General Directorate of Fundamental Rights and Safety and Health at work, joined to SUNAFIL’s labor inspectors in the recollection of the necessary information to clarify what happened.

The supervisors went to the accident location, and to Compañía Americana de Multiservicios del Perú S.A. (CAM PERÚ) offices, recruited by Edelnor to implement the viaduct of a 60 meters of laying, and to San Gabriel Hospital, in San Miguel, where the injured were transferred.

According to the information received, on Saturday August 27, the workers made the structure. At 9:30 am next morning, approximately, fell into the river with the workers that were cleaning and painting on the construction.

The workers said that they had personal protection equipment and were clamped with safety harnesses.  

The injured people were identified as Celso Tejada Rengifo, Juan Muriel Chupingagua, Julio Chacón Estela, Héctor Vásquez Mestanza, Víctor Chacón Rondón, Darwin Marchand Figueroa, Pedro Espinoza Castro, Andrés Rojas Panduro, Iván Gonzales Lozano and Melvin Román Segura.
